COGS Accounts Updates

Accounts on the website (for posting on the forums and for signing up to events) can now be modified after logging in.

Since most people had their data imported from the forums which doesn’t collect everything we do, it will be useful to have a look and make sure your details are correct. We had to fill in everyone’s name as their nickname, and if you need or give lifts you can fill in your address and phone number to save typing it in every time you sign up.

In other news, there is now a proper 404 page, a duff link has been removed and it is now easier for admins to reset users’ passwords.

    The 404 only displays on http://www.cogsbristol.co.uk/index.php/* – http://www.cogsbristol.co.uk/404 will fail in horrible ways still.

    Also – is there now a “forgot my password” button on the forums?

    Actually it was /signup/lol that is now working – in the sense that it doesn’t show an internal server error.

    And no, not yet. This will take some significant effort, and it is now much easier for admins to reset passwords, but I still intend to put an automated password reset in at some point.
